Usain Bolt

This day 2 activity 1 from teaser week of Summer Learning Journey 2019.

This weeks activity was to write 4 similes about a sport or sport person.

I found it kind of fun because I got to learn things as well as make this.

I learnt that Usain Bolt was cocky and 6'4 in height.

Next time I would probably Write my similes first and then edit afterwards.

Our Last Day With Our Student Teacher

It was our student teachers last day so she had a fun day planned. We first went to Assembly then had Morning tea then the fun began. First we had a game planned it was a treasure hunt so we had to collect letters and collect coordinates. When we collected all the letters we made the word it spelt Ruma Rima. I took us to room 5 in there the was chicken wings, chips and pizza. That was our lunch. After lunch we had a raffle we got rafflles for being on task and listening. My name got puleed out like 4-5 times I won a few lollie pops a packet of cards and a ball. It was a great week.

2019 Ski Camp

It was a early Monday morning we had just put our bag in the us we had left we were travelling. We finally stopped for morning tea after. 30 minutes we got back on the road and stopped 2 more toilet breaks we finally made it and went to put our bags in our room then me and Dayton jumped onto the tramp and started flipping and bouncing then we had dinner and dessert and went to sleep and about 9:30. The next day we went skiing and Mount Ruapehu we got our boots that were very uncomfortable and skis and had a lesson. We learnt how to stop and what was most effective for skiing. Then we had 2 hours of fun. Next day we had 1:30 of fun then a lesson we learnt how to turn and stop in a more complex way. After we took Gondola to the top of the Mountain. We came back after 1 hour of skiing for fun. The next day we went to the army museum it was super interesting learning about what happened in the war and what they ate. after exploring through the museum we had a challenge. We had a little cooker we had matches and something that we had to make catch fire. We cooked noodles, casserole and heated up some milo. We returned home and got ready to go the next day. The next day we put all of our bags in the bus and left home and 6 in the morning we left. We visited Lake Taupo and Huka Falls. We also stopped in Hamilton for pizza. Then it was a long trip back to Kawakawa. Overall it was a great camp and I would like to go back there.

Tuia Writing

This is my Tuia Writing. We did this because we wanted to know what happened with different people when James Cooks arrived. First we did people but now we did objects, this is what happened as soon as James Cook and his crew arrived. I got a makoi but there were a lot more items.

Free Writing

 5 A Side Tournament.

It was a Sunday afternoon, we had a fun tournament for our coach because he was leaving it was a 5 a side tournament each game was 10 minutes. there were 12th Grade, 13th Grade and 14th Grade. We got split into 8 teams. In our first seven games we drew 4 times won twice and lost once. We were third and got put in to the semi finals. we beat them 5-1 I scored 1 Sam scored 2 Ethan scored 1 and Louie scored 1 we got into the finals. The team we were versing had won every game expect one which they drew against us before. They were up 2-0 in the first five minutes. Sam scored after 30 seconds of their second goal, then a minute later he scored again. There was 2 minutes left and A ball got played over the top there was a player on me so I slid to get the ball. The ball just made it on the inside of the post and we went up 3-2. We hap put everyone in defence they had a few more chances but didn't score we had beaten the top team and won the tournament.

Free Writing

Rainbows End

It was my last game for Northland so my parents decided to take us to Rainbows End. It was a long trip so we stopped for sushi. We arrived there after about 2 or 3 hours after we started driving. The ride we went on was bumper karts it was easy to drive them and I only went after my parents. The next ride was the Stratosphere I there was so much screaming but I have been on it before so it wasn't really scary. We went on Gold Rush and the roller coaster next the roller coaster was fun but my head kept hitting the chairs. We went on another that I forgot the name of but it spun around going from one end to another. We went on to the go karts next and I came 2nd. Then we left because we were there for over 3 and a half hours so we went back to our motel.

Fun Run

On Monday we had a fun run we did activities while running in a paddock. Me and Honekai ran the 6 and 5 year old girls. It was our race me and Ngapua lead the race but he slowly got tired. The girls that left a bit before us I caught upto the second place girl and started sprinting to the first place but she saw me and ran aswell she beat me but I won my race.

Math Equation

This is my math equation that I got and answered. I found it easy because the way I used to figure it out was simple.  I just figured out what 20% of 1050 was then times it by 15.

Up In The Clouds

I had a long journey I was attempting the world record for the highest climbed by ladder. 125 km. In the first day I had made 100 km. I was extremely hungry, tired and I only had a little of water left. I was getting more fatigued by the second. But I knew I couldn't give up I was close. 5 hours later I was 100 meters away I was starving but I didn't care I climbed for another 20 minutes. I had made it a helicopter came and picked me up from the top and brought me down to the bottom. I finally got home I ate, drank and went to sleep after a day 5 hours and 20 minutes. I was proud of what I had achieved.

It was just after lunch when they arrived. One of the school past student Josh Goodhue. Most of the school was playing rugby with them. Some kids got interviewed  and some teachers and Northland players did as well. It was cool meeting them they were all nice guys and were fun to play with. Our school ended up singing a few songs and did a haka for them they left about 15 minutes after. Over all it was a great experience meeting them and fun playing around with them.

Weekly 3

This is what my class does most weeks on Thursdays or Fridays. We do three different types of math Prototec, Number of the day and E-ako. We spend five minutes on all of them except E-ako which we get 20 minutes on.

The Climb

The Climb

Day 3. It was a chilly day I was half way up Mount Everest. It was so cold it felt like I was on Pluto. I have never been this cold before. I felt the snow slowly fall into my boot as I slowly make my way up. Day 10. I am about 100 meters away from the top. All my stamina is gone but I try my hardest to make it to the top. About 20 minutes later I had made it, I couldn't believe I made it and I had barley any food left a helicopter came and picked me up and brought me back down to the ground. It was hard, fun and tiring as well.

My Holidays

This Holidays I went to my cousins 16th birthday. It was on Saturday we went to my cousins house to celebrate her 16th birthday. We went and helped set up we blew balloons and hung up lights. We had finished and it was time to eat there were varieties of different food we could have ate there were about 30 to 40 people so it was gone quickly. Then we started fire confetti everywhere. Everyone was hypo and joking around, it was a really funny and cool night. After a while we left because it was getting late.

Te reo

This year we are getting Te reo lessons.  I did this one we learnt last week this is our dads side parents and mums side parents. It was easy putting it into a drawing. But not so easy writing into a book.

Me vs Daniel

1v1 Me vs Daniel.
He challenged me to a $20 bet that he would be beat me in a 1v1. He started he went to shoot and I jumped up and smacked it out of the air I went and ankle broke him and scored a lay up. He started again he shot and went all the way over I got the ball and shot a three pointer it hit the backboard and right back to me then I scored again. He started and he finally got the ball in the hoop. I was about to score then he fouled me I got a shooting foul and scored both of them. it was first to five (we were counting any points as 1). I needed 1 more he just scored two points. I got the ball and shot from almost the half way and scored. He was almost crying and he ran away with out giving me $20.

Anzac Project

     
This is my Anzac project we had to write who our person was, before they went to war and our three tasks. I had three other group members Lj, Daniel and Jahrome. It was easy finding the first two tasks but the third task we has to search a little bit more.

Waitangi Project

On Thursday we did a project called Raranga Matihiko with some people from Waitangi. It was really fun we did a Scratch, Paint 3d and Green Screen with Whaea Keri and Whaea Imogen. First we worked with Scratch and the different things that we could use. The main things we worked with was looks, movement, sounds and backdrops. Then we did something called Paint 3d we could choose what colour we wanted to use and what type of thing we wanted to paint/draw with. I liked the spray can me and Daniel made a background of poppies. Then each of us took photos with the green screen and then we took the background off our photo. So we went back in to Scratch and then put our background on and the photos in. We also made our self talk with the sound button. The was it though but it was a fun day.

My First Northland Goal

My First Northland Goal

We had just traveled down from Whangarei to Western Springs and got into our kit. We warmed up for an hour and got on the pitch. The first half we had heaps of chances we had heaps of crosses and shots but we couldn't put them in the goal they had three strong shots that our keeper saved. The second half was more interesting we kicked off and 3 minutes in I pressured the goalkeeper he made a mistake and passed it to our player and he passed it to me and I calmly put it in the bottom corner. 1-0. They were through on goal but our keeper came out and bravely saved the goal and booted it all they way up to our striker he volleyed it in powerfully so that the keeper didn't even touch it. 2-0. We were 2-0 up with 5 minutes to go they got past our full back and crossed it in there winger did a brilliant header into the goal. 2-1. They had one last chance but out winger got back just in time to tackle them and kick it away there defender got the ball but it was full time. The game ened 2-1 and we had a fun ride back home.

Laser Maze

We entering the doors or laser maze. It was a 1v1v1v1v1.  I picked Inferno we rushed in The game started I quickly shot someone but got shot myself. I quickly ran up the ramp and shot two people. I ran to a base and shot it down. I shot someone through a mirror and a window. I got two people teaming in the corner then I run to cover. There was about 5 minutes left so I tried to rush everyone I got 5 more pepole and got shot about 6 more times I ended up winning by 300 points.

School Values

This is our school values it is what we would do being respectful, responsible and resilient. I was easy for everything except  resilient for food equipment and Chromebook resilience. This was mine and Daytons school values.

Holidays

My Holidays
In the holidays I went down to Auckland to play a game. There are 3 divisions Div 1,  Conference and Metro. We made the top one Metro. We were versing a very good team and they had won there last game. They kicked off and We quickly got the ball off them and had a shot that was off target. Nothing really happened except a few bad shots. Then the second half came they ran down the wing 3 minutes in and scored. Then 5 minutes later they scored again they were just keeping the ball away from us there was 15 minutes left. A corner came in with about ten minutes to go and we got a penalty from being tripped up. Our striker calmly placed it in the bottom corner. They kicked off again they were about to have a shot but our defender blocked it and tried to chip it to someone but it hit the defenders head and went high in the sky then our right wing shot the ball from 20 meters into the goal. We had 3 minutes left and our striker got the ball and shot from out side the box and scored we all celebrated. There was 2 minutes left they had a shot and our keeper caught it and kicked it away we ended up winning 3-2

My Basketball Game

On Sunday I played Basketball with Dayton. We had a $100 bet it was against Jahrome and James. We started playing I got it and passed it to Dayton he scored. Then they started James passed to Jahrome and he hit the rim and James got the rebound. Nothing happened for about 4 minutes so we did last points wins, James got a free opportunity  to score and missed then Dayton passed it to me in the air and I dunked it. We won the $100 bet and laughed in there face.

My First Northland

My First Northland Game

We traveled down to Auckland to play our first Northland. We were grading to get into the metro league there is three leagues we could get into Metro div 1 and div 2. We warmed up and got ready to get on the pitch. We got on the pitch and did 1 minute of silence for what happened on Friday. They kicked off and I quickly got the ball and played it to the right winger and he crossed it and we scored. Then I got played through and hit the pole and our striker missed the rebound. Then our left back played me through I crossed it in and it hit 2 players on their teams before our striker scored. We had a corner they cleared it but I got it and had a shot it rebounded off the goalie and our striker scored again. Quickly got on the attack and it hit the crossbar and in. We quickly passed it around and I played in our striker he shot and the goalie saved it then our midfielder scored. The Game ended and we won 4-1 and got 3 points.

Post Card

This week we are working on a poster to send to another school. We picked an object and wrote 40 words about them. Then we chose 20 words about them. Then we cut 2 words that didnt quite fit in and left us with 2 words. Then we put it into a formation. Then we put it into a card so it can be sent away.

My Weekend

We Arrived at my football game (13th grade vs 14th grade) we warmed up and got right into it. We were playing 4 quarters because it was a fun game. They kicked off we got the ball straight away and attacked one of our players got fouled and got a penalty and scored 1-0. Then I had a chance but hit the bar the first quarter finished. Then we kicked off and a minute later one of our player hit the post and I got the rebound. The 3rd quarter started the goalie got the ball and missed kicked it then we got on the end of it and scored 3-0. Then they kicked off and sent it over the top and crossed and scored 3-1. Just before the half ended we had a shot outside of the box and just went in 4-1. We kicked off for the first quarter and then nothing happened we were just trying to keep the ball. They had a shot going top corner but our goalkeeper saved it. It was the last play we gave away the ball and they scored 4-2. 13th grade 4 - 2 14th grade.

Fortnite Duos With Dayton.

We dropped in our first game on we landed Salty we both landed blue house I killed the 2 noobs while Dayton looted up. No one else landed Salty so we moved to Retail Row and I killed another 4 people and got knocked and Dayton just killed 1 and healed me. We went to the volcano and I knocked myself and another person but his teammate finished me then Dayton sniped him and had to win with 3 people left. He saw that they were in a fight so he picked up a grenade launcher and knocked one and eliminated the other he used a launch pad to get to him and 360 no scoped him. We won I had 7 kills and Dayton had 5. He said that I carried him and I agreed.

My Northland Team Experience.
The First Trials to get in to the team,
We arrived and met our coach Ben he is the under 13's Northland rep team coach. We were just getting use to playing again so we started easy. We had a little 5v5 on a small pitch and small goals. We had to play more smart and pass quicker. We won our first 2 game, We drew the next 2 and then won next 2 after that. We had finished early due to the heat.

The 2nd Trials,
 I made it threw to the next round and trialed again this time we versed under 14's. We warmed up and got straight in to the game. Our team played 1st nothing really happened until the end where we just scored and won the game 1-0. Then the next team won 2-0.

The final trial,
I made it through again. We warmed up and played another game we conceded almost straight away and the 10 minutes later we conceded again. I was running in to the box and was about to shoot and got fouled I gave the penalty to our striker and then placed onto the corner with the keeper almost saving it.
We went to warm down and we finished with a passing game.

Auckland Blues

This was an amazing experience and opportunity with the Blues. We had a race with one of the blues and I won Thomas came 2nd and Dayton and Ngapua came tied 3rd. They came at lunch time and gave out a lot of things.
